Tuesday, March 30, 2010 It's time to REVIVE my blog! i've been wanting to do this for a while now, but just never got to do it cause i was too lazy! ended up, i have so much thoughts and so much photos to post! but at least i got about changing my blogskin! do u like it? WARNING: THIS IS A PHOTO INTENSIVE POST. guess so much have been happening and now, i'm just stuck. i can find no determination to do anything anymore. so i shall blog hoping to dissipate some of these clouds in my head. so here i am, wearing my new elf shoes, listening on my thumpthump and i shall bring u back to the start of summer break! - BACK IN SINGAPORE - i manage to get myself an audit internship at BDO through CPA Australia :] well, i was bored and thought i really needed the exposure if i have to compete with local students. anyway, germx was one of the first few ppl i met back at home! :]  i forgotten what's it that we ate. but it's like hotpot! :]  germx & me! just a quick picture before the train comes! - INTERNS OUTING - there were 3 other CPA interns(4 actually, but the last one came in a few weeks later), 4 NUS interns and 1 NTU intern(whom we have nv seen except on the first day) in total at BDO :] though not all are in audit department, we try to talk as much :] the funny thing at the beginning of the internship is that because they introduced us as "interns from CPA Australia", they thought we were all australians and were desperately trying to speak to us in proper english. what amuses me the most was when my colleague began asking if the hawker food suits my taste! oh wells, not my fault they mixed it up!  1st intern outing @ vivocity! lawrence, jay, me, nga, farah, andrea! and then, they brought me to eat the famous city crab which is not at east coast park! i'm like a total tourist in singapore actually. i have no idea where all the good foods are!  yummy chilli and black pepper crab!  old man got caught in the act!  meenakshi and me!  of course! u have to take a picture after you had a delicious meal! and then, it's time to say goodbye to the NUS interns as they go back to school while we continue to slog it out!  bye farah! bye meenakshi! have fun back in school! then, it was time for CPA's award ceremony! how nice of CPA to award all the interns with nicely printed certs and a very nice lunch.  all from BDO. HR, jay, lawrence, aileen (partner), me, melissa, andrea pity the partner giving us the cert was ms aileen. she's perfectly fine, just that there's this cuter partner and it would be nice to get his picture for memory sake. cruel fact of life: 95% of the namja will nv look at girls over 55kg - CHALET - first time that i enter this chalet. it's the inner most chalet at pasirris. it's really big! pity u cant turn on the aircon the whole day tho! and pity i cant stay! say CHEESE!  mahjong mahjong mahjong! awesome fact of life: time will naturally sieve out ur friends into different category - JJ ORIENTATION - it's a yearly ritual that we seniors will go back to JJ for orientation! whoots :]  let the prettiest airstewardess introduce u to... JJ!  we finally enter JJ grounds after a yr!  the WHITES! but auntie's shirt looks grey already..  GEN-X! probably have to wait another 2 years before it will be the full gen-x. miss you emz!  random pictures! ah chye, cx, me, germx cruel fact: i will never know if he's just playing with me or there could had been something. - BODY WORLD cum SCIENCE CENTRE - i miss the science centre so much! i shall go back again during my next summer break!  the AWAKENING! but this one wasn't designed nicely.  i thought i was the only one crazy for curry sauce. but when the lcw combined, we're NUTS for curry sauce!  which one is ur favourite equation? awesome fact of life: lcw will always be there for me no matter what :] - HAIRCUT - i think it's AT LEAST one year since i had my last haircut, so decided to go back to my trusted hairdresser! SAM from SUPERCUTS @ cineleisure. i didn't know he's a director until i had to pay. oh wells, as long as he's good.  snip! snip! snip! i kinda miss my long hair now!  after the haircut! but it's almost impossible to get back this style no matter how i blowdry and what not. BUT! it works in aussie! bravo aussie! it's less humid so my straightened hair actually STAYS that way! :] CHEERS! cruel fact of life: knowing that you're second choice. - FISHING! - it's time for my annual fishing trip with my dad and uncles! loves! it's a good break from work too! even tho my last day was actually the next day, but then.. chinese new year gotta have fish right?  WHOOTS! SEABREEZE :]  our catch for the day!! :] awesome fact of life: fishing is very fun! :] - LAST DAY @ BDO - time to say goodbye~ finally finished 10 weeks worth of internship! i must say! even though there were times i disliked this job alot, but that is because i just hate that i wasn't learning anything. i must really thank Pierce. he changed my perspective of audit and he was always teaching me even though i'm not his buddy. now i can say I KNOW HOW TO AUDIT! :]  CPA interns :]  ANDREA AND ME :] we're the only ones in team A! even though we are still on different groups in team A, we stuck tgt man! whoots :]  darryl, my bickering friend! :]  jay and me! coincidentally, both of us studying in queensland! so i still can meet up with him!  laishun! one of my fave person @ bdo! she's a good senior. she gave me real work to do!  and he's pierce! don't he look damn capable?  Goodbye BDO! Goodbye Access Card! we ended our internship in the room that we started in :] cruel fact of life: i have to deal with office politics from next yr onwards! - CHINESE NEW YEAR - yay! everyone's home for chinese new year!  the pink buddies! do i look like my dad? and daddy! this is evidence that either you're becoming shorter or i'm growing taller :]  my naughty cousin who refuses to wear her hairband properly! sis, rachel, moi!  COUSINS! :] LOVES!  my baby cousin and me! cute right?! awesome fact of life: family will nv judge but always support u :] - FAREWELL - germx came to bid me farewell (at the same time, taking videos from me). and she appeared with a mystery guest. need to guess who?  sherm hijacking my dog!~  one last picture before i leave sg!  lcw! MY BEST FRIENDS :] tho one is missing! it'll be tough surviving one year without them :[ AND ying! u still owe us an explanation! cruel fact of life: i had too little time to spend with my friends! - BACK @ AUSSIE - new year, new start, new housemate! this year, my school teamed up with google! so i can access anything owned by google without eating my quota! and this means YOUTUBE, BLOGGER, GMAIL, GOOGLE :] the youtube is the BEST part man seriously! and they FINALLY decided to give all college students 10gb free download quota!  My hsemate and my new weekly monday ritual! dinner + 就想赖着你 :] whoever says great white sharks are scary? look below!  that's BILLY! a new addition to the family! and because a mutual friend decided to come back to UQ to study, he had to crash at my place for one week plus while he looks for a house.  hogging my computer!  showing off his leg!  looking like a worm in the living room.  leaving a mess on the table!  not sparing the living room!  but i'm still nice enough to cook dinner for him n my hsemate. - OSU WELCOME RECEPTION - their main motive is probably to inform us that the govt is still here for us. but besides the free dinner, i dont think anyone actually went to listen to them talk. in one of the official's speech he said "you dont know how lucky you are to be able to come overseas to study.." to which, we starting giving each other spastic looks and said "ya. we're so lucky that our govt go take in so many foreign talents and kick us to another country right. how lucky." geez.. even though overseas education is good, but some of us do prefer to stay close to home.  bored out of my mind at the reception that we started taking lame pictures!  rachel, alisa, me, doreen :]  let's do stupid poses! :p  the whole gang. - HOSTEL LIFE - when you dont know what to cook and it's a tuesday, what do u do? ORDER PIZZA!  dominos have a lame advertisement on their box cover man. it mentioned that "garlic infused olive oil" is their SECRET INGREDIENT. it's not so secret after u print it on ur box cover right?  first try of their choco lava cake! :] see the choco oozing out?  ALISA! DONT GO!!!!!!!  so many cloths! does this mean we're damn clean? i wonder.. cruel fact of life: it's hard to get a job when ure not local. - JON'S BIRTHDAY - went to paddington to try this nice thai restaurant! dont salivate! salt and pepper calamari!  red curry!  KING PRAWNS :]  Thai Green Curry!  and of course! PAD THAI! my first time trying!  ginger fish!  a satisfying birthday dinner :] on to icecream at cold rock!  what am i thinking??  happy birthday jon! :] if u must know, that's 10 lotus (peach) buns steamed for him! - MISSING UNNIE - since we refused to let jon have korean food during his birthday, we made it up by making korean food for him!  ingredients for kimbap!   evidence of us preparing! i cut! she arrange! :]  and we're DONE! :]  and of course, with korean food, must have korean music.  say cheese!  our korean meal! that's Japchae (korean glassnoodles salad)! and for dessert:  almond jelly with longan and some sweet treats!  last of all, coffee and tea with soothing music~ if only unnie was here! we all miss her alot! - ATTEMPT AT GREEN CURRY - since my hsemate like greencurry, i shall attempt to make it!  ingredients all set! just whether we should use the expensive paste or cheap paste.  decided on the expensive paste and began cooking! sadly, the expensive paste (home gourmet) is really disappointing so we added the cheap paste(maeploy) in, hoping it would salvage the green curry!  there's a GHOST! AAAHHHHHH!!! :]  nahh.. it's just ME! :]  and not forgetting! cooking must have music!  here's to the full dinner! green curry(me), miso soup(alisa) with dumplings(rachel) :] yummys! awesome fact of life: friends are the best substitute for family when ure overseas. - GROCERIES SHOPPING - of course i go groceries shopping every week but this week i had dinner at laksa hut!  look abit like sg hawker food right?  just that this plate of rice cost me AUD$14.50  itadakimasu! :]  i cut up my 2 litre ice cream to be this small! why did i do this? look below!  look how PACKED our fridge is! - ALICE IN WONDERLAND - but firstly, to GRILL'D. there's two grill'd that's nearer to my place. i've already tried the one at southbank, but many ppl insisted that the one at paddington's is much better. so.. i shall go try out! honestly, i cannot rmb the taste of the burger at southbank but i rmb it was damn good. afterall, their burgers are one of the best in brissy. anyway, the one at paddington was really nice too.. but not that much different to the one at southbank. but the one at paddington had alot of flies! that is a put off!  "Crispy Bacon & Cheese"~  plus their hot chips~ after eating nice food.. we must walk it off right?  look at the cute trolley that Big W have! it's so handy! though i wasn't buying much, i insisted to pull it around :] and.. off to our show! ALICE IN WONDERLAND 3D! :]  ALICE IN WONDERLAND! and no, i didn't label wrongly. the tickets are already sold out by the time we reach the cinema. and it's not as if we went 5 mins before the show starts. and given the amount of time it has been on air, who would have thought that the so many ppl would still want to watch this show. then again, the cinemas in brissy only has like 3 timings each day even for popular shows. so i think that explains it all. so anyway, i used the money for movie ticket and bought myself one of the best pizza in brisbane. okay.. the shop serves the best pizza.. but this ISN'T the best. there were anchiovies on the pizza. i thought "ikan billis! interesting!" and decided to try. but it turned out to be salted fish -___-"' who can take so many frigging salted fish on their pizza!? nuts! but anyway, lucky i finished my meal before earth hour :] - EARTH HOUR - it's fun doing a small part for the earth :] .i'm earth friendly! i even turned off all power except my clock's for earth hour!  alisa the other earth friendly girl :] awesome fact of life: my eyecandy is STILL in the same lectures as me :] - RANDOMS - one fine day.. the brisbane city council decided to turn off our water supply from 9.30am to 1.30pm on a sat. it is such an awful timing! cos it's a saturday! who will wake up so early on a sat? so it's either i wash up before 9.30am and go back to slp or i wait till 1.30pm which is abit.. lucky i stocked up on water the night before. filled so many bottles of drinkable and tap water. so i just woke up at anytime and used it to wash up :]  look at how disgusting the water is when it returned! u can see the everyone in the hostel turned on all their taps and left it there to run. SO BROWN! YUCKS!  i finally steamed my fish! :] miss steam fish so much! and of course! it's for my weekly monday tv show! :] WOAH! finally finish blogging this post. this post sure took me hours! first blogger wont cooperate with me and i'm unable to upload my pictures.. then, i had classes. but now it's DONE :] cruel fact of life: i need to move on.. but i cant forget about.. |
